An Experienced Educator Designing Impactful Curriculum
PROGRAMS THAT TEACH PROCESS, CONCEPTS AND APPLICATION TO REAL PROBLEMS
As a professional creative with more than thirty years experience leading an award-winning agency, I know how generate new ideas. With more than twenty years in higher education, I know how to teach.
Based on MGT353, my class at San Diego State University in the School of Management, Creativity + Innovation provides a structure for understanding the potential in people, teams and organizations. My tenure as Zahn Chair of Creativity + Innovation, Inaugural Director of the Idea Lab provided critical insights needed for proving the programs worked. At UC San Diego, I continue to develop engaging programs for The Design Lab that apply learning, and test innovation models at scale.

Training Programs
LEARNING BY DOING SOMETHING RELEVANT HAS BEEN THE KEY TO TEACHING CREATIVITY
Everyone has the potential to be more creative and innovative. A structured program, with clear goals, assignments and metrics provides the framework. My years of experience doing the things I teach provide the context. Delivering this in a playful format, with time for success and failure, engages professionals throughout the organization.
Each program has been designed to academic standards, including syllabus, workbooks and student learning outcomes. Each has also been tested across industries to comply with best practices and standards in corporate training.
It’s rare to find a director, coach, mentor, and friend quite like Kevin. I had the pleasure of interning under Kevin’s at The Idea Lab. Not only did Kevin teach me industry related skills to help kick start my career in Design Thinking; he also taught me the importance of an energetic work ethic. Kevin’s childlike enthusiasm and infectiously positive attitude made working feel like play.
Not only did Kevin hand me the Creativity & Innovation toolbox, but also taught me how to effectively use it. I never learned so much valuable knowledge in such short amount of time as I did in Kevin’s class. This class did something much more than teaching me valuable business knowledge, it guided me towards the true endeavor that I want to pursue in life.
Kevin’s innovative teaching style is a true tribute to his experience and his passion. He equipped me with the knowledge and skills to identify critical issues, develop creative solutions and make these solutions commercial. What I was able to learn will undoubtedly better prepare me for a successful career and I could not more highly recommend his classes for anyone looking to get ahead and equip themselves to be the leaders of tomorrow.
